Drive to Destigmatize

After the stigmatizing language used during a Richmond City hall proposal to investigate Richmond’s possible need for a federally exempt safe consumption site we decided to engage the public once more with a drive around Richmond with signs of kindness and understanding.

1 Year since Curtis Passed

Trevor Invites the public, media and politicians to meet with him on a bench dedicated to Curtis. He has conversations with people of all sorts in the community that are overwhelmingly positive but also display the magnitude of this crisis and how far reaching it really is.

This was also the first time with a partial wrap that the car was able to do it’s thing.

Over It

For International Overdose Awarenes Day we set up at Gary Point. We put out flags to represent those we lost to overdose in 2023.

At twilight we held a candle light vigil as we shared in a circle our thoughts on the toxic drug crisis and said a prayer for those we have lost.

Curtis’ Birthday Party Fundraiser

Our first year and first fundraiser along with a gofundme.com campaign we managed to raise roughly $10,000 which helped to pay to get the car wrapped and on the road. Thank you to everyone who donated so we could get 4 wheels driving to destigmatize and offering coffees for those who need it.

A press conference was held for the anniversary of the date that British Columbia declared a public health crisis related to overdose deaths in 2016. We placed 2272 flags near the Richmond Library representing those who had passed away in 2022. Curtis would be included in these flags.

Afterwards we went into Steveston to place ribbons with information and photos on the lamp posts and to engage with the public.
